News and Events:

* Iris and I have been overwhelmed by the love and support all of you have given us. Our teaching ministry is truly blessed. We are now so busy that our little office in the back of our house will no longer contain our books, tapes and shipping supplies.

With this in mind we have decided to add a small room to the side of our house which will be dedicated to ministry use. This will allow us to have a spare room again in the house for our guests and for friends from out of town. Much of the labor will be donated by our listeners, so we are mainly in need of building materials.

If you would like to be a part of our "Special Blessing" building fund drive, simply send your gift to us with a note saying it is for the "Building Fund." Iris & I truly appreciate your help and prayers.

Television News Update

Dear Friends,

I am going to use this space, normally reserved for comments on current events and prophecy, for something of a different nature.

We have some urgent television news to share with our viewers. We are going to start airing our Through the Bible Program on the nation-wide Inspirational Network. This is an opportunity we felt as the Lord's leading to get our teaching into areas where we have not been available. But, we feel there is a fine line between faith and fantasy. We do not want to be in a position where we cannot pay our TV stations. So, for now at least, we have given our 30-day notice of termination of the week-day airing on Channel 51 in Columbus, Channel 40 in Indianapolis, the World Harvest Satellite, Channel 27 in Dallas and KNOP in North Platte, NE.

We will remain as before on Channel 41 in Minnesota, the Saturday time on Satellite and the Sunday times in both Columbus and Indianapolis, and Channel 47 in Tulsa. This way, if our viewers will continue to support us as before, we can afford the cost of the nationwide network. It boils down to spending the same amount for a nationwide outreach as we are now spending for what we will be dropping. Hopefully, as funds become available, we will go back on daily in Indiana and Ohio where we just spent some time and know we will have a lot of loyal listeners.

Please pray fervently that provision will be made and that our new listeners will respond with financial help as all of you have in the past. We know a little bit of what the Apostle Paul meant when he said that care of all the churches weighed upon him. We pray constantly for you, our audience, and in particular for those of you with a special burden. We thank you again for all your expressions of love and your promises of praying for us.

The Inspirational Network is a cable network, so you will have to refer to your local TV guide for time and channel number. It will be airing from 7:00-7:30am Eastern time. The new satellite station will be Galaxy 1R Transponder 17. Orbit position 133 degrees West.

Also, even before the network opportunity came about, many of our Oklahoma folks had been insisting that we make some kind of space available so that we could free up our spare bedrooms which are now occupied with book and tape inventory and general office space. So, we are planning a 24'x30' addition. We already have the carpentry work volunteered, as well as the cement work, plumbing, heat and air, and electrical. The estimate for building materials is $15,000. If you would like to be a part of this, designate "Building Fund" on your gift and Margaret will keep that in a special account.

Again, thanks to you and our wonderful God for everything.

Question:

"Does the believer have two natures?"

Answer:

"Yes. Everyone born into the human race has the nature or personality they inherited from Adam.

"It is a nature that is in total rebellion to the things of God. Romans 8 calls it an enemy of God. It is subject to the ruler of this world, Satan (II Corinthians 4:4).

"Even though many good people have refined this old sin nature and kept it under control, it is still the personality that Paul describes in Romans 1 and Ephesians 2. But, that personality has to die the death of crucifixion (Galatians 2:20 and Romans 6).

Though God reckons it as dead, in our experience, he, the old Adam, is still alive and operates opposite the New Divine nature of Person, which God created in us the moment we believe the Gospel. Hence, the Christian is in a constant battle. The old nature leading us into rebellion and the new nature leading us into obedience to Christ.

The old nature can do nothing good, and the new nature cannot sin. So, which one has the upper hand in our daily life? The one we feed the best. Feed the old Adam and you will be a defeated, miserable Christian. Feed the new, or Spiritual, and you will be victorious and joyful.

Iris and I always enjoy hearing from you, and we are so grateful for your love and support.

Focus On Our Friends:

Dear Les, I live in Florida where you do not broadcast by TV or radio. However, I was fortunate enough to come across your internet site and I am thrilled! I want you to know how wonderful it is to receive your teachings of the Bible. I am a new Christian and your thorough explanations are a God-send to me! Thank you, thank you, thank you! G. J. S. Florida

Dear Les & Iris, I've been following your broadcasts almost since the day they started here in Rochester and I want you to know that they have changed my life spiritually....While I've experienced a variety of Bible studies over the years, your program is the first I've considered a necessary part of my life. Your faithfulness to the Grace doctrines is one of the things I appreciate most about your teaching. I'm amazed at how I never understood the complete separation of the doctrines of Law and Grace until a few years ago. Sincerely, Dr. D. H. L. Minnesota

Dear Les & Iris, you make what appears difficult so simple to understand. I can sure use your teachings to help with my adult Sunday School class. I have been teaching a class for 11 years, but of all the various resource materials I have used, none has ever provided the understanding that you present with the Scriptures. Thank you for your ministry, J. R. Indiana

Dear Les, We've been watching your television program now for nearly a year, and we are like children in a candy store, we can hardly wait for your program to come on. The Williams IN
