Thank you for your continued prayers, concern and support for the ministry, as well as the Feldick family. We take numerous calls every day asking how Les & Iris are doing, so we thought we would give you a more in-depth update.

Over the past couple of months, both Les & Iris have spent time in the hospital. Iris has been having trouble with severe hip pain. As a diabetic, any type of pain can make it much harder to control your blood sugar levels, which can lead to other problems. She is working with her doctors on a treatment plan that will be right for her. She is still doing things around the house and answering mail as she’s always done, just at a slower pace.

Les has been dealing with an ongoing infection and dehydration. Due to his age (94), his doctors felt it necessary for him to be admitted and receive IV fluids and meds. Although Les is experiencing a physical decline during this season of his life, his faith remains strong and spiritually he is increasingly eager to fellowship with Christ. He spends quite a bit of time in meditation and can often be heard praying aloud. He enjoys good food, and his Bible is never far from his hands.

Although we appreciate the concern and care for Les & Iris, please do not send any vitamins, supplements, or medical advice, etc. They have access to anything they could need, and they have faith that the Lord will provide, just as He has sustained them over the years. All they request from all our faithful listeners is that you keep them in your prayers.

Les & Iris have every intention of being raptured but if the Lord sees fit to take them before His return, the ministry has been setup to continue. We have always relied heavily on the support of our listeners to keep us on the air and God has always provided. As long as we are financially able to do so, our programs will continue to air for years to come. We are still expanding our coverage and plan to pick up more stations as they become available.

We will continue to air the recorded programs, starting with #1 in Genesis and going all the way through #82. In February of 2022, we will finish book #82 and start back over with #1. Although the recordings are not current, the Word never changes, and the content couldn’t be more appropriate for today.

One of the aspects of our ministry that people may not realize, is the majority of everything is done in our office. We make all the printed materials, as well as the CDs and DVDs. Since Les is no longer answering questions or responding to mail, all questions & phone calls are taken by our small office staff, utilizing the many programs Les taught over the years. In addition, that same staff is making payments, processing donations and filling orders. Concurrently, there are 2 other people who are processing mail, online orders and online donations. That is a large amount of work for just a few people. We try to be friendly and patient on the phone while also keeping the calls short. We do not need and could not accommodate more people, but we do ask that you are patient with the staff we have. Being in a rural area, we are at the mercy of the services that are available to us but do the best we can.

In closing, we realize that you are all very concerned about Les, Iris and the ministry, and many feel a deep, personal connection to them, as we do you, the friends of the ministry. However, we ask that you honor their privacy regarding the details of their health. We will continue to keep you updated in the upcoming newsletters and on our website at www.lesfeldick.org. It’s a challenging time to be a Believer. I wouldn’t go so far as to say difficult, because it doesn’t compare to what our brothers and sisters in other times and places have endured for their faith. However, there is a definite parallel to the acceptance of those things in opposition to God’s Word and the growing hostility to anyone who dares to proclaim Biblical Christianity. As believers, how we represent ourselves, and more importantly, our Lord, is very important. We need to be firm in proclaiming Biblical truths, but also respond in loving kindness. Sometimes that is tough to do in the face of name calling and insults. Yet, if we truly desire to share the Gospel of Grace and be the ambassadors that Christ calls us to be, we will follow God’s instructions for how to endure and succeed even today.

Ephesians 6:11-20
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

A memory shared from Iris

I remember well our first encounter with a diamondback rattlesnake in Oklahoma (1994). We returned home late one night from Bible study and Les let our dog, Neva, outside. She immediately had a large snake in her mouth. The snake began hissing and rattling, coiling and darting its head in and out. I was so scared for Neva, but she had always been our fearless snake dog and even had a unique bark to alert us when a snake was around. Les ran outside and yelled for me to bring the garden hoe. When I heard the rattles, I told him “I’m not coming out there, that’s a rattlesnake!” But I did. ? We won! I kept 11 rattles & a button for many years.

The next morning when Greg came up to check on us, I threw the rattles at him, and he jumped and yelled! We all laughed; thankful the Lord had protected us all. We have never seen another rattlesnake and pray we never do!

Many of you have inquired about Neva, since I have mentioned her several times. She has been deceased for several years and I currently have a dog named Sara and a cat named Willie.

The recipe corner with Iris - Texas Sheet Cake

2 cups sugar
1 cup water
2 cups flour
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup butter or margarine
2 eggs slightly beaten
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp soda

Preheat oven to 375° - Sift together flour & sugar into a medium bowl. Combine cocoa powder, butter or margarine and water in a pan and bring to a boil. Pour over flour & sugar mixture – mix thoroughly. Add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla and mix well. Pour into greased jelly roll pan. Bake for 20 minutes – About 5 minutes before the cake is done, you’ll want to make the frosting.

1 lb powdered sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup butter or margarine
6 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans

Combine butter, cocoa powder and milk in a pan and heat until boiling. Remove from heat, add remaining ingredients and mix well. Spread over cake while still hot. Allow to cool & enjoy!
