Faith Plus Nothing

Dear Friends, (Submitted by Iris)

We miss Laura in so many ways, including her newsletter articles about the rapture. But, as much as we miss her, we would not have her back in this old world. We are praising the Lord that she is no longer suffering but happily in His presence. Perhaps when she receives her new body she will even have a job of caring for horses as that was the hobby she loved most while on earth.

In the last letter, we informed you of the new amateur DVD of teaching done around our old oak kitchen table. The teaching was recorded by our good friend Richard Roebke from Indianapolis, who has taped almost all our seminars and some of the classes. The 2, one-hour sessions were on “Reinforcing Right Division.” The introduction is a short segment of the ranch and ministry and an interview with Les and me in our living room. We recorded a similar program back in 2000 that aired as part of the regular TV show which can be found as the first segment of #42. Nevertheless, the latest DVD has triggered a lot of questions about Les and me, as well as our family, which I will attempt to answer here…

Les was born in Buffalo Center, IA on June 6th, 1927 and was raised there as the 4th generation to a German farm family. He was saved in Bible School in 1937 at the age of 10, and from that time, has never strayed from serving his Lord and Savior. While serving in the Army in Hot Springs, AR, a Sunday school teacher friend informed Les that he needed to make a date with Iris Gray. I was born Jan 1, 1932, in Poteau, OK, where I was saved in 1948. The Lord had also sent me to Hot Springs for Nursing Training. Our first (blind) date was on February 14th, 1953 and was very special to us as we found each other to be true believers, so it was “love at first sight.” We were married just 4 ˝ months later, June 21st, 1953. We will be celebrating our 65th wedding anniversary this year.

After farming in Iowa through 1975, we came to Oklahoma and have loved living and working here since. Over the years, the Lord has blessed us with three children, nine grand-children, and five great-grands, and one on the way. After our children were grown, it wasn’t long before Les was back to teaching Bible studies just as he had done for years in Iowa. God opened one door after another and eventually Les began recording a weekly television show in 1990, along with teaching local classes 4 to 5 nights each week. We enjoyed our fellowship and Bible study for many years wrapping up the recordings in 2009 and other classes a few years later.

Our first son, Greg, born in 1956, received his degree from NSU. He wanted to join us in the ranching business in 1990, and we were happy and thankful to have him do so. Greg now lives just down the lane from us helping us in many ways with the ministry as well as the ranch work. Greg’s son, Jesse, (1988) lives nearby with his wife, Hailey, with their two sons. Hailey helps in the office.

Laura was born in 1957. She had degrees in both nursing and education, along with a love and knowledge of raising horses and dogs. She started with the ministry in 1998 and was a natural born helper. She, with her family, lived 3 ˝ miles down the valley from us. Laura’s daughter, Tara, (1982) and her husband, Bailey, and son live about 2 ˝ hours away near Vinita, Ok. Laura’s son, Zack, (1984) and his wife, Kara, live nearby with their two sons. Kara makes the DVDs and CDs for the ministry, and Laura’s husband, Jerry, prints the books while Tara has helped off and on over the years. We are so happy and thankful that they all live near us. Many of you know that our Laura was thrown from a horse on Sept 20th, 2004 and spent the next 13 years and 25 days as a quadriplegic. During those difficult years, she was a very good witness for our Lord in many ways. On October 15, 2017, the Lord called her home. Praise the Lord!

Our third child, Todd, received his degree in agronomy, and worked in that field for 10 years before he also decided to come try ranching near us. Todd’s wife, Kim, helped at the ministry during the formative years, and did a wonderful job. Les and I were able to enjoy their first four kids being raised and homeschooled just down the road. Then, in 2001, Todd followed the Lord’s leading to a teaching position at a Christian Academy in Duluth, MN for three years.

Since that time, Todd and Kim have had two more sons and acquired a small farm near Maple, WI where he works for the Canadian Rail Road. In total, they have five sons and one daughter: Abraham (1991), Emily (1993), Gideon (1995), Ben (1997), David (2004), and Daniel (2007). Emily is married and expecting her first child and Ben is a Marine stationed overseas. Kim has educated all the children at home and we are thankful that we get to see them twice a year.

Les and I occupy our time by reading and responding to mail and taking care of our two dogs, Cindy and Sara and two cats, Abby Deal and Willie. Sara, a 1-year old pup, thinks she rules the roost and pesters 6-year-old Cindy continuously. They wear us out, but they are great entertainment and we love them all. We also watch NBA and root big time for the OKC Thunder. We read a lot in the winter and when it’s warm, love to sit outside in the swing to reminisce and watch the cows, birds, butterflies, squirrels, and everything thing in God’s beautiful creation. The girls in the office are loyal and faithful, working over-time to try to keep up with the mail, phones, and other duties. They also go far above the call of duty, such as putting up groceries, and even herding cows if they should get out. They try to do anything necessary, including filming the ranch scenes on the “Reinforcing Right Division” DVD. We are so thankful for all (and there are many) who have had a part in the ministry over the years. We know that they will receive many crowns.

What in the World by Les

We receive so many calls and letters that begin with “… my preacher says this” or “… my denomination teaches that” when it comes to the pre-tribulation rapture of the church. Let’s not get carried away with opinions from a lot of preachers. Instead, let’s just see what the Book says, our Apostle in particular.

2 Timothy 3:1-51This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Look at this portion carefully. Although it does describe a carnal world, there is not one word of the death and destruction we read about in Revelation. Not a word of what we normally expect about the tribulation horrors of those seven years. And why wouldn’t Paul mention these terrible events? Because we will be out of here! A close study of those five verses will show the reader that we are getting close. The moral and spiritual breakdown, even in one of the last nations claiming a Biblical foundation, is evident everywhere we turn. I believe that verse 5 is the most telling of all. Every day we get letters from folks who have had to leave their church of 20, 30, or 40 years because of liberal theology. And what is liberal theology? It is anything that ignores Paul’s Gospel for catch-phrases such as “believe in Jesus”, “take Him into your heart”, or “take Jesus as your savior”. Now compare this with Paul’s Gospel, 1 Corinthians 15:1 – 4 plus Romans 1:16. Read the following verses carefully and pay attention to what Paul states, as well as what he does not say.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Romans 1:16 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

We are in Easter season. According to Paul, the resurrection is just as much a part of our Gospel as the crucifixion. I Corinthians 15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain (worthless); ye are yet in your sins.

If the trumpet sounds today, are you ready? Are you truly resting in Paul’s Gospel?

Romans 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

I Timothy 3:15-16 15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Office Note

Spring is a time of change, green grass, budding leaves and blooming flowers. We are excited about some new growth here at the ministry also. In the next few months our order and donation website, www.lesfeldick.com, will have a fresh look and some new features. Our goal is to make the site more user friendly. There will also be several episodes available to view from the site, including the programs that are airing on Television at the time. Our other site, www.lesfeldick.org, will continue to have all the same information its many visitors currently enjoy, including all 984 episodes in both text and audio (mp3) form.

Once again, we would like to remind our viewers, the only official Les Feldick websites are www.lesfeldick.org and www.lesfeldick.com. If you are donating, ordering or receiving emails from any other sites, please know they are not affiliated with Les Feldick Ministries. Donations made on any other sites do not benefit this ministry or contribute in any way to keeping the programs on the air.

“Through the Bible” programs have been uploaded to YouTube for several years and by many individuals, with hundreds of thousands of views, however we feel it is time for the ministry to create our own YouTube channel. There will be many programs posted for viewing as well as some seminars, and possibly some special features as well.

These developments are our attempt to keep up with current trends in media for one specific goal … to better spread the Gospel of Grace. We know we have been a little slow in “modernizing” but I think many people appreciate our more traditional approach as well. Please pray for the ministry as we try to keep all of this in balance, but most of all, keep the focus on Bible centered teaching that will reach many souls!

Recipe from Iris

Growing up poor in rural Oklahoma, we rarely had cookies or the ingredients to make them. When I started high school, I enrolled in Homemaking and was taught how to sew, as well as bake. T’was so much fun! These black walnut cookies were the first I learned to bake and still one of my favorites, 69 years later. There are few more ingredients than my usual recipes, but they are delicious!

1 cup of lard (Crisco)
2 ˝ - 3 cups flour
1 cup of brown sugar
˝ teaspoon baking soda
1 cup of white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup of chopped black walnuts

In a large bowl, cream butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs and beat until smooth. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir dry ingredients into the creamed mixture until well blended. Stir in walnuts last. Shape dough into logs, should make about 5 rolls. Wrap them in wax paper and refrigerate until firm. Slice into half dollar size cookies. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly brown, be careful to not over bake. Dough will keep for up to one week in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

Turn Around

Most of our long-time friends know that Les started recording the program in 1990 and continued to tape a weekly show through October of 2009. When those programs air five days a week, it takes almost four years for them to air beginning to end. In May, “turn around” will take place and the series, will start from the beginning. We know many of our friends are looking forward to starting back in Genesis. The Bible is truly a miraculous book. We can learn something new no matter how long we have been studying!
