Faith Plus Nothing

Note from Les

Dear Friends,

Not much to write about this quarter. Iris and I have stayed pretty close to home and consequently have missed the cold and flu that has been evident everywhere. Materially, we have been blessed with some moisture that we needed so badly. If the Lord tarries, we are hoping for a normal summer, precipitation wise. On the spiritual side, we have kept busy answering your phone calls and mail questions. It is music to our ears to hear and read that you are growing in grace and knowledge. As always, I have to thank you for your kind notes and letters. Thank you for your financial help and please, never apologize for small offerings – they are the backbone of our ministry! And above all, thank you so much for your prayers!

What In The World: The Kingdom

Probably no other concept of Scripture has been so convoluted as the 1000 year reign of Christ on Earth, in what we call the Heaven on earth kingdom. Some reject it completely while others maintain we are in the kingdom now. What a travesty! The first mention of this coming kingdom promised to Israel is in Exodus 19:6. And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. This is where God gives Israel the possibility of becoming a nation of priests. That is, every Jew would be a go between [a priest], to represent Israel's God, Jehovah, to the rest of the nations of the world. That promise lay dormant until God picks it up again with King David. 2 Samuel 7:10 & 11 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them anymore, as beforetime, and as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the Lord telleth thee that he will make thee an house. Now we have the lineage of the coming King beginning with David. From this point on, nearly all prophecy is with this King and kingdom in view. Isaiah 9:6 & 7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Jeremiah 31:31~33 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Much of Ezekiel’s prophecy concerned this coming kingdom and the Temple there in. We read of this in Daniel 7:13 & 14. I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Nearly all the minor prophets have the king and the kingdom in view. Zephaniah 3:14 & 15 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. The Lord hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the Lord, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more. Zachariah 14:9 And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one. Now as we enter the New Testament, nothing is changed except now the promised King is in their midst. Matthew 3:1 & 2 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. The 12 are given the promise of their role in the kingdom in Matthew 19: 27 & 28. Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

But veiled in Old Testament prophecy, was the fact that the king could not fulfill the promises until he had finished the work of the cross. John 12:23 & 24 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

As we move into Acts chapter 1, the uppermost thought in the disciples’ minds, was still the kingdom, so the theme of resurrection in chapter 2 is to establish the fact that the coming King is alive and the kingdom is still a valid prospect. Acts 1:6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

Then during Paul's epistles, the kingdom drops out of view. The king and the kingdom is never promised to the body of Christ. But the Jewish epistles pick up the same once again in 1 Peter 2:9. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

Then the King finally appears in Revelation 19:11~16. And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords. As well as, Matthew 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.

Finally, in Revelation 20:6 & 7, we are given the timeframe of 1000 years. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison.

Laura's Note

Once again, spring is all around. I saw a daffodil yesterday and the grass is starting to turn green. I even saw buds on a tree and a couple of robins! Baby calves are sprinkling the pastures and other signs of new life are all around. Everything we see in the springtime ought to be a reminder of God's great gift - His death and His resurrection to life. Each time we see some new plant pushing its way up and out of the ground or a new leaf unfolding on a tree. Better yet, witness the miracle of birth - instant reminders of spiritual new life! But the other day I went out to check a fruit tree that we had planted, and I did not see signs of life and it brought to mind how it must grieve our heavenly Father to see so many people stay dead [spiritually]. However, there are those who experience new life in Christ, and then should come the growth process. As a farm kid, I can tell you that bottle babies never do as well or grow as fast, as a baby on its mother - it’s because they do not get enough nutrition. They do not get fed, from a bottle, like they do if they are on their mothers. All growth processes need food/nutrition, even the spiritual. I think that God must weep when we are regenerated, but become stunted because of lack of spiritual food. Lastly, I thought about how last year, during the drought, our garden did not bear produce like it should - what a disappointment! I am sure that God experiences these emotions, even more so, over humanity than we could ever imagine! Grief for those remaining spiritually dead, concern over those who have experienced regeneration but did not grow, and disappointment in those who bear no spiritual fruit.

Office Note

Here in the office of LFM we are enjoying another wonder of God’s creation, the transition of winter to spring. We feel truly blessed that, as we work, we look out of the windows at beautiful Lona Valley and all the plant and animal life in bloom around us. We also enjoy hearing from our many callers about what is going on in their part of the country, and we always pray for God’s blessings of enough rain (and sun) for everyone.

We do have just a couple of things to draw to your attention that will help us (and you) out immensely. First, please remember to write on the memo line of your check either “donation”, the invoice number for payment, or “send” and the items you would like to order. As we have said before, it is not necessary to use an order form. However, if you have a longer, more complicated order, you may want to use another piece of paper with your check to write the details of your request. If you are writing a letter to Les, remember to include your name and address in the letter, as well as on the envelope and please do not use paperclips or staples in your correspondence, as they damage the letter opener.

If you still need a year end donation receipt for 2012, just give us a call and we will get that right out to you. Lastly, in Jan - March newsletter we advertised, the 2012 San Clemente Seminar Special Product. Unfortunately, it had audio issues that could not be corrected, and will not be available to purchase.

Sometimes people wonder why our Ministry is plural in its name -- Les Feldick "Ministries". The reason is not only do we have the TV and radio programming here in America as well as international programming, we have an excellent prison ministry, we supply missionaries with DVDs and books, we have a program for the blind and we also contribute a small amount to a pastor's school/widows home and orphanage in Haiti. All of this is made possible by your donations or purchase of products. As you know, 100% of your donated dollar goes toward spreading the gospel via TV or radio. All other expenses are paid for by the proceeds of product sales. So whether you send donations or purchase any of the products, we feel like you are helping to spread the good news of the free gift of salvation- that all we have to do is believe in our Lord and Savior's death, burial, and resurrection.
