April - May - June 1999

Friends: As I write this the last of February, Spring is knocking on the door. With Spring comes the arrival of our baby calves. Baby calves are so much like little kids. When we unroll the hay and the mamas line up to eat, the babies gravitate to the open and then they begin to play. Tails in the air, they run and jump. Occasionally a mama whose baby is one of the youngest, has to leave her feeding to check on her little one before going back into the herd. What a thrill to watch it all.

But, that thrill pales when compared to the thrill of phone calls and letters from our listeners that tell of coming out of religion and bondage into the liberty of God's Grace.

A few weeks ago, a gentleman called from Pennsylvania. Sixty years as a Jehovah's Witness and the Lord used our simple teaching to open his heart and Spiritual eyes. Moments later, a lady called from Georgia, almost like reading from the same script. She, too, had been a Jehovah's Witness for many years, but like Lydia in Acts 16, the Lord opened her eyes and she was reveling in the power of the gospel of Grace.

Of course, we are saddened when we hear of the loss of loved ones. Some of you have recently lost your husbands, some of you your wives. We want you to know that although we can not answer every letter, we remember you in our prayer time. So, once again, Iris and I thank you, as much as language can express, for your encouraging and exciting letters. Some are short, less than 10 words, some are quite lengthy, but we love them all.

BOOKKEEPER'S NOTE: Yes! We are up and running with "Quick Books" software and loving it. We are now able to track income and expenses (as well as sales, invoices, etc.) with a click of the mouse - and we have easy, accurate records. For those of you interested in how your donations are spent, in January, donations totaled $48,221.78 and television time cost $48,787.00. In summary, that means every penny of donations was put back into air- time! God has been so good to meet our needs and your financial support is much appreciated! Thank you, Laura Thomas

SECRETARY'S NOTE: You are doing a great job returning invoices and noting the products you are paying for on the memo line of your checks. Thank you! If you do not wish to return your invoice, just mark the invoice number on the memo line of your check. We now have 35 books (book 36 will be ready to ship by about April 7th), and videos and audios for all 36 books are available for purchase. Videos are $30.00, audios are $22.00 and books are $6.00 each (each product is 6 hours or 12 programs in length and equals 1 book). If you have questions, please call me. Sincerely, Kim Feldick.

Also, we are updating our Home Bible Study list. If you host a Home Bible Study, and are open to newcomers, please let us know. We have many people who call us seeking a Home Bible Study in their area. It is a great way to fellowship with a Christian Family, Grow in the Word and develop Lifelong Friends and Accountability Prayer Partners.

TELEVISION BROADCAST NOTE: We produce our programs for a weekly format. When we receive requests for a daily, we have only one solution - replays. But, at 20 programs a month (on a daily basis) versus the four new ones we produce per month (for broadcast to our weekly audiences), the time comes when, if we are to continue daily broadcasts, we must go back and start over again. That is going to happen about April 1st. Remember, there are multitudes who just recently found us and have never heard the earlier programs. Thanks for your patience.

_______

FINALLY: We want to thank some very dear folks who have been invaluable to our ministry for a very long time. Jerry and Lorna Pool (pictured at right), from McAlester OK, diligently take each audio-tape and transcribe the audio content onto computer disk for book production. We cannot say enough about the character and loyalty they have shown in their tireless efforts to see Les' teachings become written word. They have contributed literally hundreds of hours to Les' ministry. We are so thankful for Jerry and Lorna Pool.

WHAT IN THE WORLD:

In Matthew 24:3, the disciples asked about signs of the end. Jesus' direct answer in verse four was, let no man deceive you. Or, in other words, one of the signs is deception or confusion. Now, Matthew 24 is totally tribulation ground, but the world has to be prepared for even that. So, even though we are not seeing the super-natural events of the tribulation which are truly prophesied (i.e. the 2 witnesses of Revelation 11), common sense tells us the world cannot be made ready for the appearance of the Anti-christ and the False Prophet over night. So, we are naturally witnessing all the preparations. I have often likened it to getting the stage ready before the curtain goes up. Therefore, when Jesus warned of deceivers, it follows that we can see that happen before the tribulation begins.

One of the many deceptions cascading on the Christian community like an avalanche, is the claim that the Body of Christ will go into or even through the tribulation.

The one cord that binds all these deceivers together is the rejection of Paul's Apostleship. For Paul alone reveals the Doctrines, Practices and the end of the Body on earth. For example, Paul alone reveals a salvation based on faith and faith alone in the finished work of the Cross. How Christ died for the sins of the whole world. How that His shed Blood and our faith in it brings justification. How the Power of His resurrection is imparted to us when we believe. Paul alone gives instruction for the Communion service, Paul alone gives instructions concerning Deacons (no one else uses the term) and alone gave instructions for the local church. So, also, Paul alone teaches us the end of the Body of Christ on earth. Consequently, Paul alone gives us the Scriptures concerning what many now ridicule - the rapture or the catching up of the Church which is His Body. The language of I Corinthians 15:51-54, I Thessalonians 4:13-18, II Thessalonians 2:1-3 can not be found anywhere else in our Bible.

Every book that listeners send me advocating a later out-calling mixes these verses with all other verses that apply only to the Second Coming when Christ will stand on the Mount of Olives. If you mix Paul's doctrine concerning the rapture of the Church with the Second Coming, then you can mix law and Grace. And, when you mix law and Grace, Satan smiles and God is grieved.

In II Timothy, Paul paints a vivid picture of America today. But, in Titus 2:13, he gives us the Blessed Hope of the believer - the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ. I have to believe we are getting close. I trust none of you will be "left behind."

_______

Questions & Answers, Letters, Etc

QUESTION:

Why didn't Jesus write any of the books of the Bible?

ANSWER:

II Timothy 3:16 - All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable.... Hebrews 12:2 - Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. II Peter 1:21 - For the prophecy (the Word) came not in old time by will of man, but holy men of God spake as they were moved (inspired) by the Holy Spirit.

In actuality, then, Christ wrote, through human instruments, the whole Bible from cover to cover. Our Lord is the visible manifestation of the invisible God (Godhead) - Colossians 1:15. So, He personifies all three Persons. When Acts 16 says the Lord opened Lydia's heart, we know it was actually by the Holy Spirit. When Peter is told in Matthew 16, flesh and blood had not revealed it, but your Father in heaven, it too was by the Holy Spirit. To understand the workings of the Trinity is beyond human understanding, so we take it by Faith. Slowly digest Isaiah 9:6 - For unto us (Israel) a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulder (King of Kings) and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Remember whom it is talking about in the first part of the verse - the Son.

______________

QUESTION:

If all are called and few are chosen, and none can come unless called - why are we to testify and witness?

ANSWER:

Because God in His Wisdom has seen fit to communicate to the human race by empowering believers with the Holy Spirit to proclaim God's Word to our fellow humans. For example, the Lord opened Lydia's heart in Acts 16:14 , but Paul spoke the words she needed to hear. Isaiah 6 is another good example. The Lord said "whom shall I send, who will go (to the nation of Israel) for us?" Isaiah answered "send me." Romans 10: 14,15 & 17 - How shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And, how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? How shall they hear without a proclaimer? How shall they proclaim except they be sent? (Remember Isaiah?) So then, Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. The call to salvation is extended to everyone. But, salvation comes only to those who are willing to believe.

Focus on Our Friends

--We are happy to have a small part in keeping your broadcast on t.v., it is the best and most valuable half hour on the air. - Peterson W1

--I am amazed, thankful, and just plain dumbfounded how much your teaching has helped me. Although I accepted Jesus as Lord long ago as a teenager, I struggled with the Law, forgiveness and justification. Even now, though I've been watching for almost a year, it's almost like God is chiseling away at a heart and mind of granite - I still struggle, but now I have more hope than ever before, because His Word is being made clearer each day. As His purpose unfolds, I have hope and can praise Him like never before, and my husband and our three boys are all benefiting greatly! I know my hope is in the Lord, and that He is faithful and was faithful in answering my prayers and guiding my seeking heart.- Mason IN

--I just don't know how to tell you how much your "Through the Bible" programs have helped us (my husband & I) understand the teachings in the Bible. We sit down together to watch your program with our Bibles, pencils and markers. Something we have never done before. We have talked about the Bible and gone to church through the years, but your teachings have made things different and life much better. My mother died last year and my world was so sad and then one morning as I was making breakfast and did not want to watch the news, I started turning to different channels and there you were. What a gift from God - and I make sure I thank Him for you every day. I moved my Bible from the living room to my kitchen counter and could hardly wait for each morning for cooking and Bible study with Les Feldick. I began telling my husband and showing him what I was learning. Before long, I started taping your program so we could learn together. We have shared with our sons (two - grown and not home anymore) and other family and friends.- Seals KY

--There is nothing on television that compares to yo ur ministry. What wonderful teaching that has us using our Bible book to book and back again. My love of the Old Testament I equate directly to you. I have lots to learn yet, but tying the New Testament to the Old directly ... has opened my eyes to a new Bible and how I love it.- Hamaker IN
