NOTE FROM LES

Dear Friends, First and foremost, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! for your prayers and financial help. Oh how we thank our all-sufficient Lord for your faithfulness! We realize these are tough financial times for some of you and our prayers are mindful of that. So far, our contributions are keeping up with our expenses and we are not expanding and even must be prepared to cut back if need be. Should that happen, radio will probably go first as we hear very little response from most radio audiences. So if you're dependent upon radio, please let us know which station that you listen to and we would especially be interested in knowing how many of you listen to us on WHO in Des Moines, Iowa on Sunday mornings. It is a powerful station with a large potential audience but it is also quite expensive so if you give us some feedback, it would be helpful.

Iris and I have been enjoying our rest but it's not total. We still have a lot of company dropping down from I-40 which is only 18 miles from our home and we still read the mail, answer letters, and answer the telephone questions. I also had the privilege of conducting a funeral of one of our class people. He was a community pillar and much loved so it was a humongous crowd. The deceased's wife told me just before the service, ''Les, there are a lot of people here who have probably never heard the gospel, so don't hold anything back''. That was all I needed! As I was concluding my message and emphasizing the finished work of the cross, I gave this illustration: At the end of a three-day seminar in Bandera, Texas-- [the San Antonio area]-- a beautiful young woman came up and said to me ''Les, am I hearing you right? I don't have to be baptized to go to heaven?'' ''That's right'' ''I don't have to go to mass every week?''. ''Right again''. ''I don't have to go to confession?'' ''That's right'' ''And why not?'''' Young lady, do you remember the last three words that Jesus spoke from the cross?''. She thought for a minute and then said ''It is finished''. I then told her that if the creator God himself said the plan of salvation was finished, what are church people calling God when they say it wasn't? What are they calling God when they say you have to do all of these works?'' She looked up at me with those big brown eyes and exclaimed,'' They are calling him a liar''.'' Exactly. It is faith in the finished work of the cross plus nothing.''

As the crowd was filing by the casket and shaking my hand, one middle-aged fellow said in passing ''I will be praying for you! One billion Catholics cannot be wrong''. If I could have, I would have shown him Matthew 7:13 & 14 where it says 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

While I was by myself waiting for the procession to be arranged, a young fellow in his mid-30's came up to me and said ''That was a great message but why didn't you mention water?''. I had the opportunity to show him from Scripture and he was pretty much aghast. He allowed me to start in Matthew 10:5 & 6 where Jesus is telling the disciples to go not to the Gentiles, but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then we went to Acts 2:36-38 - 36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. After that, Acts 7:58 & 8:1, where we have the first mention of Saul of Tarsus. Then on to Acts chapter 9, which is a chapter on Paul's conversion. In verse 15, we find where Saul is designated by the crucified, buried, risen and ascended Lord from glory as the divinely appointed apostle of the Gentiles.

Then we looked at Paul's gospel found in I Corinthians 15:1-4. Our final stop was I Corinthians 1: 17 - 17For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. I then left him with two more references in Galatians. In Galatians 1:6-9 and 5:1 & 2, where Paul writes that if you are circumcised-[or anything else for salvation]-then Christ shall profit you nothing.

It was time to leave for the cemetery and he left me with these words: ''I've never seen this before. I'll have to study this.''

If you remember in my last newsletter, I made a comment that I was far behind in answering letters that had questions. Those are usually the only ones I have time to answer but I finally caught up. However, my days are still filled with questions by phone and letters and it is such a joy to know that so many are really getting into the Word.

Health wise, Iris and I both are victims of long time in these bodies of flesh. Nothing life-threatening, but things that take the edge off of our energy. My shoulder has improved sufficiently to postpone major surgery at this time and I thank you for your prayers regarding this. We will still plan to travel some, but not like in the past. Keep watching newsletters or check online for announcements.

What in the World? by Laura

With all the things happening around us today, most of us as believers are getting excited thinking and hoping that perhaps we are getting very close to the day that we will hear the trumpet sound. Anyone interested at all in prophecy and has the Internet, has a vast resource pool in which to delve. I am one of those who spends more time than I should reading the news and looking for the clues that might mean our time on this earth is limited. Three of the things that I look for are those indicating to me a one world currency, a one world religion, and a one world government are at least in the formation stages. I think most Bible scholars agree that those three will be in place by the middle of the tribulation and it excites me to see it happening right before my very eyes.

[see] Rev 17:13 - 13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast [anti-christ] Rev 13:7, 8a - 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, Rev 13:15,16,17 - 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

In the last two years, the word ''global'' has become commonplace. Secret societies are no longer secret and governments all over the world are vocalizing a desire for global structure. The Copenhagen conference has openly stated this as one of its goals and has stated that by next year's conference things should be moving along towards that end. The European union is now unified more than ever under a new president who openly stated that this year was the year of the one world order.[Personally I think he got ahead of himself just a little]. As for one world currency, China and Russia are both pushing for this and everyone knows the American dollar is getting weaker and weaker. Surely I am not alone in wondering what the economic future for America is when we owe so much money to foreign powers. For a while, there was talk of a North American Union currency but I am thinking that step is going to be completely passed over. With the ''cashless society'' trend, one could look at Bible prophecy and think that instead of a new world currency, there might be a number and an implanted chip instead--- especially when an ''implantable device'' is something our lawmakers are already wanting to impose on us under disguise of health bill requirements. After all, implantable chips are already in use among many Europeans as well as the military. As for one world religion, I have not found as much on that but was not surprised to hear that there is an all-religion conference being held in Melbourne Australia the first part of December. Then just this week, I read that there was a meeting between someone high up in the Vatican and someone high up in the Muslim religious world. At the end of the meeting, the Muslim stated that he felt like there was common ground now between the Muslims and the Christian world. Wow.

However, despite all of the exciting things we see in the news and our desire to be present with the Lord, Dad is constantly reminding me that we are to occupy until He comes. Thinking the rapture could be soon should make all of us examine our lives and do what we can to reach others before it's too late. We should never be so focused on our going to heaven that we forget that so many others are going to an eternity in hell.

Note from Laura

Some of you that are newer to the Ministry might wonder who in the world is Laura. Well I am Les' daughter. Then the next obvious question is why do I have a ''Laura's note''. Well, actually it started quite a while ago. I started to work for the Ministry in 1998 and thereafter wrote most of the office notes. In September of 2004, I was thrown from a horse into a steel fence and broke my neck. After about a year, numerous people suggested that I write updates about myself and put them in the newsletter, so that is what I started doing... then after a while, the notes evolved away from health updates to writing things about other topics. However, this time I have been asked to write an update about myself as in a rerun of the program last month, it had Dad announcing my accident. So now, it has been five years and I think I am doing pretty good especially here the last few weeks. I am still paralyzed from the shoulders down but have learned to use my shoulders to move my arms and for that I am so grateful. I also have some bicep ability which really helps also but I have absolutely no triceps, forearm, hand or finger movement. Because of the bicep ability and the shoulder muscles, I am able to use a brace with a pencil to run a computer and answer a phone. Modern technology is absolutely awesome in its helpfulness for someone like me! I have had an awful lot of problems over the past five years but God has been so very very good and now the problems I have are not even worthy of complaining about :-). Through it all I have been sustained and encouraged by fellow believers and their prayers. My gratitude is beyond words for any and all of you who have kept me in your thoughts or prayers or helped out financially through this tough time!

We have had so many recent inquires about the Timeline that we thought we would include it in the newsletter.
