Dear Friends,

Thank you so very much for keeping us in your prayers. Our last few months have been busy ones and we thought you may enjoy a report of our summer.

We left home June 30th heading for the east coast and stopped at Crossville, TN for the night . We had planned to be in Marion, NC for a meeting the next night, but at 5am Wednesday morning I was awakened with excruciating back pain and severe nausea. Iris and I both knew it was a kidney stone, and an ambulance trip to the Crossville hospital with tests proved it to be so. Then about noon, while still debating whether to be admitted or go back home, prayers were answered. I suddenly felt ok, the good Dr. released me, and we were able to make our next scheduled meetings in Washington DC. We had a great time there with the Grace folks from Thursday through Sunday. Then we left the Washington DC area on Sunday the 4th, and were about the only vehicle leaving as everyone else was coming into the city for the fireworks.

The next stop was Warfordsburg, Pa for a home Bible study where we enjoyed a group of about 50.Then it was on to Chicago for teaching and fellowship at the Grace Gospel Center. On the way home, we were able to stop and enjoy teaching in Iowa where a gentleman (who is now with the Lord) started a couple of home study groups. The next stop was home for a few days, then on to the Alaska cruise. We had a group of 48 who enjoyed the scenery, good food and fellowship, as well as daily Bible study.

Next was an all day seminar held at Pryor, OK on the 14th of August and we had a good turn out, with folks coming from KS, OK, MO, TX, AR and even AZ. The most recent trip was our MN/WI trip. We just returned from there, where we were privleged to teach 6 nights in various homes, as well as the all day seminar, (where attendence was around 600) followed by the Sunday services in the Bethesda chuch and then the 3 day retreat in WI. We spent a few days with Todd, Kim, and the family on the south shore of Lake Superior and also taught a couple more home Bible studies before heading home. Words can not express the blessings of meeting so many of our friends that have accumulated over the last eleven years, plus making so many new ones. Our heart felt thanks to all. Les

We get many letters and phone calls from people who believe that Christ died for them and rose from the dead, but they are so insecure and lack assurance of their salvation. They keep hearing preachers tell them that they can’t be saved if they do not speak in tongues, or they haven’t been baptized by a certain church, or if they do not give 10% of their money , or.... on and on it goes. That is what preachers may say, but our Bible does not. Quite the opposite! Galations 1:6-9 says: "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have recieved, let him be accursed." Paul’s gospel-( I Cor. 15:1-4)- that Jesus Christ (God the Son) died and shed His blood for our sins, was buried 3 days and 3 nights and arose the 3rd day—That is it. Plus nothing. That work of the cross finished it and it is sufficient. That is why if anyone adds to that gospel, they are under the anathama of God. They are calling Him a liar, so do not listen to them. Let God be true- —it is faith plus nothing. Then good works follow.

QUESTION AND ANSWER

"Where does the Bible refer to the Trinity?"

First, the word Trinity is not in the Bible. It is a coined word to denote the 3 persons of the God-head. It takes a look at the big picture to determine that God is one, but functions as 3 persons-God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. There are many references to God the Father and God the Son. In Eph. 5:20 we have God the Father and God the Son, and in Col 3:1, the same. Then in Isaiah 11, we see God the Son (as the branch) and God the Holy Spirit and in I Cor. 3:16, we see that we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. But we can not find one verse that puts them all together at one time.

Believing vs. Believing with faith.————A man was standing with a wheelbarrow beside a tight-rope stretched across the Grand Canyon. When a passer-by asked what he was doing, he replied "I am waiting for someone who believes I can push this wheelbarrow across to the other side." "I believe you can do it" said the passerby. As the man continued to stand there, the passer by asked what he was waiting for. The man answered, " I am waiting for you to get in."

Last election, 4 million evangelical Christians did not vote. Since this is not an election about politics, but about moral and cultural principles, these 4 million had better vote or we will be in deep trouble as Christians. VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!!!!!!!

I have just finished reading (for the second time), the best book on the Koran and Islam that I have ever read. It is easy reading and exposes the Koran for what it really is and isn’t. It is titled "Secrets of the Koran" by Don Richardson and can be ordered for $14.99 by calling 1-800-446-7735 or by going to www.regalbooks.com.

To all of our Florida listeners- Our prayers are with you, especially if you have lost nearly all your earthly possesions. But the promise is still true-Hebrews 13:5- "I will never leave you or forsake you."
