Dear Friends,
What a joy to express to each and every one of you our thanks for all your cards, letters, prayers, phone calls and contributions. We could not stay on the air without them. The past five years since we stopped traveling have literally disappeared before our eyes. In the meantime, we have not just gotten older…we have gotten old! Our steps are less sure, we tire more easily, and everything slows down. But, we have so much to be thankful about! Iris, at 86, is still cooking three meals a day and keeping up with the house-work. She bakes something almost daily. It’s easy to tell I’m four and a half years older because I’m slower and still fighting periods of dizziness and weakness. Yet, at 86 and 91, we are blessed to be under our own roof and capable of taking care of each other. To top it off, on June 21st we celebrated our 65th anniversary. We are eternally thankful to God for His continued blessings in our golden years.
What in the World
What did Jesus mean when he made the statement to Nicodemus in John 3:7, “Ye must be born again”? And why did Nicodemus not have a clue as to what Jesus was referring? Let’s go back to the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were perfect creations and could have lived forever. However, through the fall, sin entered, and Adam and Eve died spiritually. They lost fellowship with their creator at that moment and since that time every person has come into the world spiritually dead. In order to restore fellowship, they had to experience new life, spiritually. They had to be born again! For thousands of years, this concept was real, but few understood it. Even Nicodemus, a leader in Israel, did not have a clue. Remember, his question to Jesus was, “Do I have to go back into my mother’s womb?” Obviously, the term “Born Again” did not register with him. I think that is why the Holy Spirit did not inspire Paul to use the term. Instead, let’s see how Paul puts it: II Corinthians 5:14-17 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. Look carefully! All are dead, spiritually, as Adam and Eve were. The spiritually dead must be given a new life through the POWER of the gospel. Reborn or born again. Again in Ephesians 2:1-5 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) The same concept. We were dead until the power of God made us alive. Also see Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. and Romans 8:14-17: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. The same Born-Again experience is recorded.
Meet the Office Staff
Iris has been encouraging us to update our viewers on the people who work in the office and help you to put a name with a face. Our staff is small considering the multitude of jobs done, which is why we appreciate your patience so much. Besides answering multiple phone calls, we are also responsible for sorting the mail which averages around 300 pieces per day. Processing, packaging and posting all the orders and donations that come via phone, mail or online is done in the office. Also done in-house is book printing, dubbing of DVDs and CDs, and sending programs out to various stations, paying for air time and making sure that it all stays on schedule. Of course, most importantly, we also take time to address spiritual needs and Biblical questions given our experience with Les’s teaching and access to the materials. We would like to thank everyone for their prayers, kind words and faithfulness to Les Feldick Ministries. God Bless!
Since starting over in Genesis, we have been asked many times, “where did Cain’s wife come from?” The
answer can be found in Genesis 5:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight
hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters. Well it’s very obvious that these early families
married sisters and gradually they married cousins, and next of kin. Now that sounds awful to us, but you
want to remember back here at the beginning human history, the physical makeup, the gene makeup was
so pure, and so perfect that there wasn’t any problem with inner-marriage of next of kin.
